2024 Asia Pacific Summit of Refugees Announcement

APNOR is proud to announce the upcoming 2024 Asia Pacific Summit of Refugees (APSOR). Building on the achievements of previous years, in 2021 and 2018, we are looking forward to engaging in meaningful and constructive dialogue with refugee-led organisations and relevant stakeholders in the Asia Pacific Region to explore sustainable solutions to the challenges faced by refugee-led organisations in the region.

This year’s summit will take place between the 17th and 19th of May in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Additionally, attendance will be possible in our local hubs across various countries and virtually facilitated by our collaborating refugee-led organisations to ensure inclusive and accessible participation.

Occurring once every two years, this summit serves as a pivotal platform for fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and formulating sustainable solutions to empower and support refugee-led organisations. By convening every three years, the summit ensures that stakeholders have regular opportunities to assess progress, exchange best practices, and chart a collective path forward in advancing the rights, well-being, and integration of refugees. As we gather for this transformative event, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive, compassionate, and resilient future for all individuals displaced by conflict and persecution in the Asia Pacific Region.

We are grateful for the support of the following organisations in facilitating the summit across the region: The Bangkok Urban Community Club, the Philippine Arab Cooperation Council, Care the Displaced Children, the Hope Learning Center by House of Hope, the Karen Refugee Committee, New Zealand National Refugee Youth Council, Rohingya Maiyafuinor Collaborative Network, Humanity Seekers, Save School for Refugees, Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace & Human Rights, Harmony Sisters Network, Karenni Refugee Committee, Refugee Action for Change (REACT), and the Organization of Hope.

Asia Pacific Network of Refugees (APNOR) is the only region-wide refugee-led network of refugee-led initiatives in the Asia Pacific region that is working with and for refugees. APNOR was established in 2018, on the recommendation of Asia Pacific Summit of Refugees (APSOR).
