Ali is a refugee from Afghanistan who currently resides in Iran. He has been a former staff with UNHCR. He is a well known refugee advocate among Afghan refugees across Iran in developing programs and activities to support the empowerment of refugee community leaders and have been the founder of Afghan Refugee student network. He has extensive skills in policy advocacy and diplomacy. He has strong networking skills with Iranian INGOs and Afghanistan local actors whom he has worked in partnership on repatriation issues in past years.
Asia Pacific Network of Refugees (APNOR) is the only region-wide refugee-led network of refugee-led initiatives in the Asia Pacific region that is working with and for refugees. APNOR was established in 2018, on the recommendation of Asia Pacific Summit of Refugees (APSOR).
